Library patrons now have access to Ancestry.com Library Edition from home. Thanks to Proquest, this service which was previously only available inside the library is now accessible from your home computer. To start your journey into the past HERE. Universal Class, has more than 500 lifelong learning and Continuing Education (CE) classes. All classes are designed and led by professional instructors. Universal Class includes videos, assignments, quizzes, tests, and options for social media interaction with other learners. You can even take multiple classes and receive Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
Anyone with a library card from a Mid-Hudson Library System library can create an account and use Universal Class, completely tuition-free. Tumble books is offering free access to all their content for families through August 31st. No library card or sign-in needed. For free access go to www.beaconlibrary.org and you'll find links to the websites at the bottom our homepage.
Mango has courses in over 70 languages. From Spanish and French to Azerbaijani and Yiddish, they've got you covered. English language learners can also use Mango to study English in their native language. English courses are currently available in 20 different languages from Arabic to Vietnamese. Many of our patrons are already familiar with OverDrive for downloading ebooks and audio books. But did you know that they also offer streaming video?
